Established in 2009, the Lone Star Company Navy Junior ROTC proudly serves students from Vista Ridge, Rouse, Cedar Park, Leander, Vandergrift, and Glenn High Schools. The Booster Club's primary purpose is supporting the NJROTC while adhering to the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment as a foundation of trust and leadership on which the NJROTC is based.
2024: NJROTC State Drill Competition 4th Place
In 2023, the Lone Star Company was the #1 (out of 65) NJROTC units in the state of Texas. This is the 11th consecutive year the LSC has earned the status as a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors. Other notable accomplishments this year include:
JROTC Academic Bowl Navy National Champions and 2nd place in the All Services JROTC competition.
90% of cadets are on the school’s honor roll or taking advanced classes.
Senior cadets earned over $2.25 million dollars’ worth of educational scholarships.
The CyberPatriot team (cybersecurity) was ranked first in state of Texas and one of the 12 teams internationally (of 2,890) to advance to the National CyberPatriot Finals.
For the first time in the Lone Star Company’s history, they advanced to the Area 10 Texas State Academic, Athletic and Drill Competition in College Station. With a well-rounded academic, athletic, and drill portfolio, they were selected as one of two units from Texas to advance to the NJROTC National Academic, Athletic, & Drill Competition in Pensacola.
One of the cadets earned the #1 marksmanship spot in Texas. He represented the Lone Star Company and Texas in the NJROTC national marksmanship championship.
The academic team qualified to compete in the Area 10 Texas State Brain Brawl Championship.
The LSC received an overall grade of Outstanding on the Annual Military Inspection.
The LSC accumulated over 680 volunteer hours supporting various school activities in LISD.
Outside of LISD, they spent time serving the community by working with VA clinics, food banks, VFW fundraisers, public library events, and retirement homes - giving over 3,313 hours in support of their community
The LSC raised $600 dollars to donate to their charity of Cadet's Choice in 2023, the Austin based “Hungry Souls”.
The Lone Star Company Navy JROTC receives a limited budget from LISD and the United States Navy to support program activities. The Booster Club and the unit hold various fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds necessary to support program activities with the goal of developing informed and responsible citizens who are committed to excellence and service to their community.
